Library collection
The current holdings of the library currently total over 18,000 items. This includes books, videos DVDs, audiobooks on CD, magazines, reference materials and other cataloged items.
Interlibrary Loan
If the library does not have an item you wish to view or read, you may fill out a form to request an Interlibrary loan. You may also call or email us. It is helpful if you can have as much information as possible about the title you are requesting including the full title, author and ISBN number. The staff will check to see if the title is available and will request it or call you to let you know it is unavailable. Generally, requests take 1-2 weeks to arrive. We may not ask for items less than 6 months old. Click here to access the state NHU-PAC catalog.
FAX and Copy Machines
The library has FAX service available. A staff member will send your FAX for you. The charge is $1.00 for the first page and .50 for each additional. We can also receive faxes for you at .10 per page.
The library has a self-service copy machine for public use. Users will pay .10 per page.
Computer and Internet Access
The library has one public access computer with cable internet. As of January 2010, the library has WiFi. There is no charge for computer use. You may also use this computer for word processing. Printing from this computer is $.10 per page.
Museum Passes
Through the generosity of the Friends of the Daland Library and private donations, we currently offer passes to the following museums for our patrons:
- SEE Science Center - 3 family passes, special exhibits not included with pass
- Museum of Fine Arts, Boston - takeaway passes, each admits 2 with a $7 co-pay for each adult. Special exhibits usually require separate admission charges
- Currier Museum of Art - 2 takeaway passes, each admits 2
Adult Book Group
Our adult book group meets the first Monday of each month at 9:30 am in the Library. The group creates a list of titles at their first meeting in January. The library orders enough copies of the title for each participant, whenever possible, through interlibrary loan. New members are always welcome.
